How to Add a Windows 8.1 machine to an Active Directory Domain Service (AD DS)

This guide will take you step by step through, how to add a windows 8.1 PC to a domain. In my case here, I have made a domain called: Football.local, which the PC will be added too.

Step 1. First, open explorer, which is in the bottom line (normally), as shown below.

Step 2. Right click on "This PC", as show below.

Step 3. Choose "Properties" in the bottom of the menu, as show below.

Step 4. Choose "Change settings" in the right side of the window, as show below with a red square.

Step 5. Then choose "Change" in the new window, as shown below.

Step 6. Pick "Domain" by moving the dot and type the domain that you want to add the PC too. As shown below, I want to add my PC to a domain called, Football.local

Step 7. When clicking OK, it ask you to type a username and password, this account must have administrative rights in the domain otherwise you can not add the new PC to the domain. I have choosen the administrator acc, as shown below.

Step 8. If you have choosen an account with administrative rights, then you now should get the info about the PC have been added to the domain, as shown below.

Step 9. Before the PC is fully member of the new domain, you need to reboot it, as shown below.
