How to enable Remote Desktop (RDP) on Server 2012

This guide will take you step by step through, how to enable Remote Desktop on Server 2012, but do note that this guide will only show how to enable it for all network connections on the server and not for any specific users.

NOTE!: The firewall exception will not allow remote desktop connections to the server, so either make that yourself or disable the firewall (NOT recommended, if the server is supposed to go live).

Guide 1 to enable RDP

Step 1. First, choose "Local Server" on the left side of the "Server Manager" and then "Disabled" just right of "Remote Desktop", as shown below.

Step 2. Move the dot down to "Allow remote connections to this computer" and remove the tick for "Allow connection only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (recommended)", then last hit "OK", as shown below.

Guide 2 to enable RDP

Step 1.First, choose file explorer, as shown below.

Step 2. Right click on "Computer" and choose "Properties", as shown below.

Step 3. Then choose "Remote settings", as shown below.

Step 4. Move the dot down to "Allow remote connections to this computer" and remove the tick for "Allow connection only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (recommended)", then last hit "OK", as shown below.
